In 2017, Sarvagya envisioned a space where guests could escape the city without ever leaving it—a place so surreal that, within moments, the hustle and bustle of Delhi would fade away, transporting them somewhere entirely different.
What emerged from that vision was India’s first cave hotel, nestled in the heart of Delhi.
These were the early days of Craftels, and the journey came with mountains of challenges. Working with a limited budget and within the constraints of a rented property meant that every idea had to be inventive, resourceful, and unconventional.
Instead of seeing limitations as obstacles, Sarvagya turned them into opportunities. Small leftover pieces of chicken mesh from construction sites were collected and shaped to create the caves' distinctive forms. Fallen trees picked up from the roadside were transformed into artifacts. Scrap materials found a second life as furniture.
Every corner was built with imagination, and every piece carried a story.
Caves was not simply created—it was discovered, piece by piece, through experimentation, upcycling, and the belief that with enough imagination, even the most ordinary materials can transport you somewhere extraordinary.
I founded Craftels with sustainability at its core, driven by a mission to make hospitality both purposeful and inspiring. My goal is to show that hospitality can be as enriching as it is indulgent, blending luxury with meaningful, environmentally, conscious practices.
